đź’Š What Exactly Counts as a Visited Web Page in Marketo?

Ever wondered why your Marketo web page visit reports don’t always match up with other web analytics tools like Google Analytics? 🤔 It can be frustrating when the numbers don’t align, and it’s important to understand what Marketo considers a “web page visit” to avoid confusion.

In Marketo, a web page visit is recorded when a lead with the Munchkin tracking cookie loads a web page where the tracking code is installed (no matter how much time the lead spend on that page). This means if the visitor doesn't have the cookie, or if the page isn't properly tagged, Marketo won't log that visit.

To get the most accurate tracking:

  1. Ensure your Munchkin code is installed on every web page you want to track.
  2. Make sure visitors are cookied properly so their behavior is logged.
  3. Remember that Marketo focuses on individual lead behavior, while other tools like Google Analytics look at broader site traffic.

With these insights, you can better interpret your Marketo reports and align them with your marketing goals! đź’Ş
